Dear GruffyGoat Customer,

First of all, I just want to say thank you for your business and continued support of GruffyGoat. It has been a great year and it’s been an honor playing just a small part in your small businesses. You’ve made this little hobby, turned freelance business, a lot of fun and I’m looking forward to working together in 2014!

Along those lines, I just wanted to pass along some news that will impact each of your websites (in a good way!) starting next month…

Starting in December we will be changing our hosting platform to WPEngine.com. You may or many not have heard of this company, so feel free to check them out. But just to summarize, they are known as one of the best (if not the best) WordPress hosting provider on the market today. They only host WordPress websites, which means that we will see an increase in the speed and responsiveness of our websites. This is also great news to your customers.

There are tons of other features that will come into play once we make the transition, but I don’t want to bore you with the techie details. Here’s just a short list – feel free to check out their site for more info, testimonials & faq’s!

  • Fast speeds
  • Unlimited data – no more limitations on your website’s size!
  • Daily backups of both your website files and database
  • Automatic scans for malware and potential threats
  • Firewall protection
  • One-click restore points – like an undo button for your website!
  • World class support

These are features that just aren’t available with your typical run of the mill hosting provider… especially that last one if you’ve ever had to deal with one personally. And as you will see from their pricing plans, it’s more expensive. But as they say, sometimes you get what you pay for, so I think this move in a no-brainer for us. I’ve included an email from Ben Moffett of Blue Megaphone, our hosting provider that outlines everything in more detail if you’re interested.

So how will this impact you, my awesome GruffyGoat customers? Well, other than getting a major upgrade to your website – it won’t! There will be no cost increase for my current customers as a result of this hosting change. Your $50/month covers the cost of your hosting in addition to Lifetime Support and everything else you already know about. And while this upgrade will eat into that, we hope the benefits will be enjoyed by all, myself included!

I will be sending emails out individually over the next month or so as your site is moved, but I just wanted to pass along the heads up! If you have any questions for me, don’t hesitate to ask.

I hope you all have a Happy Thanksgiving with your family, wherever you may be. Thank you again for your support, referrals and kind words over the past year – it’s what keeps it fun.

Thanks,

Nathan Duvall
